For a long time, I did everything the “right” way.
I built a successful corporate career. I was responsible. Reliable. Smart.

And yet… I still felt financially capped.

That reality hit me hard when I was laid off while pregnant.
As I moved through interviews, my growing belly became more visible, and opportunities quietly disappeared. Let’s be honest, companies weren’t exactly rushing to hire a soon-to-be mom.

That was the moment I realized something important.

No matter how accomplished I was, relying on a single paycheck meant I was vulnerable because one paycheck is too close to none.

They say you should have a year of savings tucked away, but most families don’t. I knew I needed another way to create income. One that fit my real life, not one that required more hustle, more sacrifice, or more hardening. I was done with hustle culture, so I had to figure it out. Fast!

Instead of panicking or starting from scratch, I slowed down.

I looked at the skills I was already using every day: the way I think, solve problems, lead, communicate, and carry myself, the things that came naturally to me and that people consistently sought me out for.

And I began to see them differently.

Not just as “what I do,” but as assets.

That shift changed everything.

I learned how to translate what I already knew, my perspective, my experiences, and my way of thinking into income… without burning myself out, abandoning my career, or forcing myself into a version of business that didn’t feel like me.

Today, I’m still in corporate because I want to be, not because I have to.
And I’ve created multiple streams of income for my family that provide options, stability, and peace.
